‘Affair’ creator twists court shows

Don’t be fooled by the “Judge” in the title — this is one court show that’s all about recovery, and not squabbling exes.
“Last Shot with Judge Gunn,” which premiered in September, is hosted by Judge Mary Ann Gunn, who spent 12 years overseeing the Washington County Drug Court in Arkansas with remarkable success.
The show, which airs here on Ch. 11, is basically a no-frills, blow-by-blow depiction of Gunn’s drug court — there’s no narration and no announcer.
If Gunn isn’t a national figure, yet, she’s certainly well-known in the Fayetteville, Ark., area, where her drug-court hearings were televised on public-access channels (Gunn retired from the bench last June to focus on her new TV job). “Last Shot” is taped in her former courtroom, adding to its authenticity.
